both (a) and (b) are shit-scary.

Thou speakest verily old bean.

They can yap on all they like on CNBC Squawk Box, these tell the story like the iceberg sticking up on the ocean.

Saltation

many a mickle makes a muckle.

I agree with Saltation, both those items are very scary. My mechanic, one of the few people I allow to work on my car, told me that all the mechanics at his shop and another shop he knows have been placed on contract status. They only work (and get paid)when a customer calls in and requests the mechanic. He is trying to find something else to do to keep food on the table.

Saltation

ffs!
nomad496: what country are you in?

Earl Mardle

Oregon if I remember correctly

nomad496

Saltation,
Earl has a good memory. I live in beautiful, rural, Oregon, USA.

Saltation

a/ nice

b/ worrying that the drying-up of money has reached so far into the economy in the USA.

nomad496

Oregon has always been a poor state. We have never had a lot of money around here, stories of Portland and Nike notwithstanding. This is a good thing and a bad thing. Many people are used to being self reliant and the money vacuum cleaners in NYC are not interested in us. The bad thing about being poor is well, being poor.
