Heading to Wellington today and sitting next to a couple of guys talking business. One saying that a company he is working with have locked down all vehicle use and nobody is allowed a company vehicle more than 2.4 litres with diesel as a preference. The other talked about his own need to change vehicles to comply with a lower consumption policy.
Then a suited and tied, smoothly haircut mate wanders up and says hi, is introduced as working for one of the formerly big finance companies and wanders off again after assuring them that things are tough but going OK. The neighbours then say that "it must be really tough being in THAT business these days". Yes says the other, I lost two deals when one of them went under, this has really affected a lot of New Zealanders. To which the other responds that he is SO glad that nobody was in one of these companies because of HIS advice and several of his clients were caught out from previous decisions.
MAN that is a different tone from a few years ago, I wonder where all those masters of the universe went?
